I’m Sarah, it’s nice to meet you!
More or less Jill of all trades. Chronic multiple balls in the air human. Quite frankly it’s how I thrive on this planet.
My focal areas are holistic and sustainable movement and nutrition. You may ask, what even is “holistic and sustainable movement and nutrition”? I personally define this as: movement which supports you as a human physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually (if this is your thing)… and a nutritional approach which does the same. It fits in with the rest of your life and doesn’t create additional stress. Most importantly, it’s super individual to each person because we all have different bodies, goals, and experiences.
I strive to be a piece of the puzzle in helping you support your body, embark on (potentially) fear-filled adventures, and own your unique human experience.
I want you to feel good in your skin,
and be friendly with your body.
Drop the “should do” and
roll with the “I love to do”.
I primarily work with endurance and adventure loving humans (of ALL levels!) with strength training and nutrition. This can be an individual looking to add a strength program to supplement their training, post physical-therapy strength training, needing assistance with overall or event day nutrition, or all of the above. I have experience with a multitude of sports and outdoor activities including hiking, trail and mountain running, jump-rope, weightlifting, cycling, climbing, nordic skiing, alpine touring, and snowboarding.
My philosophy is that your health: physical, mental, emotional, spiritual health – it’s all connected (even when we may disconnect it on the regular). I’m big on the mind-body relationship and the connection of movement with brain function. In regards to nutrition: it’s my belief that we are all unique in our needs and preferences and that when we can align these two things we ultimately feel and function most optimally.
Outside of working with amazing and capable human beings, I can be found in the great outdoors frolicking up mountains, riding my bike, being a book worm, climbing up walls, blogging, having (solo) kitchen dance parties, enjoying every last sip of my morning french press coffee, and doing pull-ups and double unders for fun (and for my inner child).
Body positive, sustainable movement and nutrition.
This is where the magic is at.
I teach humans that the answers are already within them.
It is all about believing in yourself.
This is my “I see you” as a human statement:
Being eight years in remission from anorexia nervosa, having struggled with maladaptive exercise behaviors, growing up competing nationally in jump rope (yes, jump rope), dealing with misophonia, having worked through the process of regaining my period from hypothalamic amenorrhea and healing subsequent osteopenia, having endometriosis, being born with hip dysplasia and all that comes with this from a movement perspective, and you know have existed as a human for over a quarter-century…
That all said: I can firmly say that I see you, your story, and validate both entirely.
You and your experience with this world are valid, worth it, and I respect you.
No matter your story, I’m your ally.
When working with clients my main priority is to hold space for each person, in whatever way is beneficial for them. This is ground zero. We work as a dynamic duo from there.
Part of my mission is to empower people to celebrate their bodies,
for what they are and what they are capable of.
To nourish them with movement, food and love.
